Karen Miller
Happy Hour Kitty Art® pieces are as unique and whimsical as the name suggests. Each piece is part of a large repertoire of projects consisting of one-of-a-kind mixed-media collages. It’s assemblage art recycling at its best! The “canvas” varies from wine bottles, roofing slate, vases, frames, and mirrors, to a bookcase and an entertainment door. The themes are usually kitty-related with an unending supply of found items used to create each piece: jewelry, leather, wrapping paper, handmade paper, magazine clippings, stamps, glitter, beads, moss, buttons, lace, fabric, ribbon, sequins, cork, wood, and cut glass.
A significant portion of Karen’s work is donated to fundraising events for organizations such as the Contemporary Arts Center, Recycle for the Arts at the Green Project and the Good Sheperd School.
Recent 3rd place winner in the juried event “Re-Play with It Toy Show” at the 6th AnnualOddities Bazaar and Silent Auction for Recycle for the Arts hosted by the Green
Project.
