African dancers perform at the Arts Market of New Orleans Kid’s Tent.
Presented by the Arts Council of New Orleans, the Arts Market is an open-air festival of creativity held the last Saturday of every month at Palmer Park in the Carrollton Section of New Orleans. At the last stop of the St. Charles streetcar where South Claiborne and South Carrollton Avenues meet, the Arts Market of New Orleans is a free event open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Arts Market also features live music showcasing New Orleans unique musical heritage, food and beverage booths, and a Kids Tent with a performance and creative crafts.
It is the mission of the Arts Council to support and to expand the opportunities for diverse artistic expression and to bring the community together in celebration of our rich multicultural heritage. We believe this centrally located, accessible Arts Market featuring visual and performing arts will not only enhance our community, but provide needed economic development to the artists of New Orleans.
