 The deadline to submit an Advancing Our Culture or More Joy proposal to the Community Arts Grants (CAG) Program is Tuesday, May 10, 2016.  The CAG program is made possible by the City of New Orleans and applicants must be domiciled in Orleans Parish.

The deadline to submit a Decentralized Project Assistance proposal is Tuesday, May 17, 2016.  Decentralized applicants must be domiciled in Orleans, Jefferson, or Plaquemines Parishes.  The Decentralized program is funded by the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council.

Eligible applicants can submit applications to both funding sources, CAG and Decentralized.

The Arts Council Announces 2015/2016 Decentralized and 2016 Community Arts Grants Recipients

The Arts Council is pleased to announce 2015/2016 grant recipients of the Louisiana Decentralized Arts Funding Program.  A list of grantees domiciled in Orleans, Jefferson and Plaquemines parishes can be found at 2016 Decentralized Narrative – Orleans, Jefferson & Plaquemines.  Grantees domiciled in Assumption, Lafourche, St. Charles, St. James, St. John and Terrebonnes parishes can be found at 2016 Houma Decentralized Narrative.  The activity period for these awards is October 1, 2015 – September 30, 2016.  Congratulations to all these recipients!

The Arts Council New Orleans is the region’s largest funder for the arts. 

In 2016, we awarded over $900,000 in grants to southern Louisiana’s artists and arts organizations. We administer funds for the City of New Orleans through our Community Arts Grants, and for the State of Louisiana through the Decentralized Grants program.  Grant awards are made for arts activities in Assumption, Lafourche, Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist and Terrebonne Parishes.

Who decides who gets funding?

All granting decisions are made by volunteer panels made up of community members and stakeholders in the arts. If you are interested in volunteering on a grant review panel  please complete the Panelist Nomination Form.
