The Museum School

The Museum School is an ongoing program which offers classes in a variety of art forms to students aged 3-18 and adults. The intention of Museum School is to offer diverse and high quality arts education in the Museum classroom incorporating fine art modalities such as: movement, visual, music, theater, etc.

The Museum is seeking proposals from artists or groups of artists who will creatively contemplate, initiate, and execute arts-based classes at the Mississippi Museum of Art. Classes can be any length, from single days to multiple weeks, and can occur to fit the schedule of the artist(s) offering them. Classes can be proposed to occur any time throughout the year.

This proposal should include a strong verbal description of the goals of the class and the methods for achieving those goals. The proposal should include detailed information regarding the targeted audience, scheduling date(s), and time

The proposal should clearly articulate the concepts and/or techniques the students will acquire through completing the course.

The proposal should include a detailed materials budget and artist fee. Student cost will be determined and collected by the Museum. The budget may stipulate that the students must provide their own supplies, but a list of the expected supplies and their cost should still be included.

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
