Participant FAQ
PERSONAL ACCOUNTS & ARTS PROFILES
What is the difference between a Profile and an Account?
You must have an Account in order to post an artist, venue or group profile or to post events. Account holders also get to maintain a Personal Calendar as well as a Watch List and upload photos and videos to the multimedia section.
A Profile is an online listing for an artist, venue or group. NOTE: Humid Beings usernames/passwords work the same on ArtsNewOrleans. You can access your account on ArtsNewOrleans using the same username/password that you use on HumidBeings.com
My profile is on here, but I didn’t create it. How do I access it?
You can access a profile by clicking the “Edit This” button located on the profile you would like to claim. There is a yellow circle icon next to the words “Edit This” on the page. Once you press this link, you will be prompted to enter your username/password or generate one to create an account if you do not have one. You will use this Username / Password to login into your account. Once in your account you can access your profile as well as add additional profiles and multimedia to the site by clicking on your username located in the top right menu bar next to the Log Out button.
I’m an artist, venue or group, why should I create an Account and profile?
By creating an Account on ArtsNewOrleans.org you are able to create an artist, venue or group profile. When you create an artist, venue or group profile you are joining a content network that will help to promote your art, arts group or venue to a mass audience that is interested in the New Orleans arts scene. You will have the ability to edit and enhance your profile with photos, videos, podcasts, and editorial. By creating a profile you will also be able to add events to the ArtsNewOrleans events calendar. This Calendar is used by our city wide partners
I’m NOT an artist, venue or group –can I still create a profile?
If you are not an artist, venue or group you are encouraged to create an account, but not a profile for yourself. Profiles are meant for artist, arts venues or arts groups to help them promote their arts products, events, or programming.
However, we still encourage you to create an Account. By creating an account you will get added benefits which include being added to our weekly e-letter that offers half price and free tickets to arts events in the city. You will also be able to add photos and videos to the multimedia section of the site as well as maintain a personal calendar of your favorite upcoming events and maintain a ‘Watch List’ which will let you know whenever any of your favorite artists, venues or arts groups have added content or events to the site.
Can I have more than one person update my artist, venue or group profile?
Definitely. Once you have created a profile for an artist, venue or group you will be able to assign permission to any Arts New Orleans account holder to edit any of the profiles you have created.
Editors must have their own Account through the ArtsNewOrleans system. The ArtsNewOrleans team strongly encourages that you keep your Account username/password to yourself and have any other profile admins create their own Account on the system.
