Community Paint Day with Trinity Barriere

Arts New Orleans is delighted to invite you to a special Community Paint Day with artist Trinity Barriere on Saturday, January 24th, at the Audubon Louisiana Nature Center. 

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to The Mirage, a large-scale public art sculpture that will become a permanent installation in New Orleans East. Created by local artist Trinity Barriere, this striking work is composed of individually painted birdhouses that will serve as habitat for birds migrating through the Audubon Louisiana Nature Center and Joe Brown Park area.

We’re inviting community members of all ages to join us in painting birdhouses that will become part of this stunning sculpture. Each birdhouse you paint will help tell the story of our community and its connection to the natural world around us. The completed sculpture will be unveiled April 2026.

The Mirage is created in partnership with the City of New Orleans, and it truly belongs to our community. We’ll have snacks from Dong Phoung Bakery and music from ANTWIGADEE. No artistic experience is necessary; just bring your creativity and enthusiasm. Paint supplies will be provided.
